At the west end of Main Street, in the small town of New Alexandria, Pennsylvania is a compound of buildings that serve as my home and studio. Over the past several decades I have worked in various media, including woodworking, painting, photography, and jewelry. Only in recent years, I have found the versatility of concrete irresistible; consequently concrete has become my medium of choice.
My sculptures all begin by forming a metal armature, and then they come alive by applying layers of masonry. With the tendency to do large pieces, I had the recent experience of the ecstasy of success and the agony of being type cast when I made an acorn the size of a compact car. My acorns have become very popular for which I am thankful, but my passion lies with doing fanciful creatures, which resemble nothing of which we are familiar.
I wish everyone could experience the excitement I enjoy with the start of each new piece.
